Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated is guided by the motto “Service for Humanity”, The Sorority has programs focusing on health promotion and disease prevention, leadership development, mentoring, recruitment and retention and scholarships. These programs fulfill the mission of the sorority.
Howard–Thompson Scholarship
In November 1945, Sorors Lottie Jones Howard and Lillian Carter Thompson, members-at-large of Alpha Chapter, Inc. Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., along with eleven other conscientious and ambitious nurses met and organized a working Chi Club that marked the beginning of Zeta Chapter.

The Howard–Thompson Scholarship was established in 1993 to honor these two Sorors who organized and sponsored Zeta Chapter.

This scholarship is awarded for demonstration of academic excellence and commitment to the profession of nursing. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited program, working towards a RN degree in nursing, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. To be considered for this scholarship award, you are expected to complete and sign the enclosed application and return ALL requested information. Beulah T. Davis
Book Scholarship
Beulah Davis was a Chartering member of Zeta Chapter, Inc., Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated. For more than 70 years Soror Davis gave tirelessly through her humanitarian, professional and philanthropic efforts. Soror Davis chose to celebrate her 90th birthday not asking for anything for herself but by giving, as she established the first Zeta Chapter, Inc., Chi Eta Phi, Inc. Beulah T. Davis Book Scholarship.
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, working towards an RN degree and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. You are expected to complete the enclosed application and submit the requested information to be eligible for the scholarship. Selection of the award recipient(s) will be randomly selected from the pool of qualified applicants. The selection procedure shall be as follows: Each entry into the Book Scholarship Program will be inputted into an Excel spreadsheet. After the application deadline, each entry will be randomly assigned a number through the Excel random number generator process. Applications of those selected will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee to ensure that the applicant meets the eligibility requirements. The completed and signed application as well as all required documents are to be returned electronically to the Scholarship Committee Chairperson by 11:59pm on May 15, 2025 at zetachaptercep.scholarship@gmail.com.
